I'm using Vista Home Premium 64-bit, and under the advice of another thread, I started using Driver Detective a little while ago, really nifty program to take the hassle out of the driver-hunting experience. I've got the same 2.53 unibody 4GB MacBook Pro. I have the latest one from nVidia () and it is a bit crappy - sometimes artifacts appear □īut i'm wondering - how it runs on the New models? I think with the new MBPs the game will run even faster. I could play the game very comfortable but the benchmark gives random results: 13-20Fps. The settings were (and are still same): 1440x900, Medium textures, High renderer, all values are 21 except the shadows - they ~14. And I really liked it!īought it, installed Vista 圆4 bit SP1, installed Steam and then finally - GTA 4! They gave me a MB134 model (2.5 Ghz 6Mb L2, 4GB RAM 667 MHz, 320Gb 7200rpm HDD, nVidia 8600M GT 512MB GDDR3). So I asked - want a laptop with Matte screen. The glossy screen was the one that moved me from the decision to buy the laptop of a new revision. I really don't like the new revision of MacBook pro laptops: glossy screen, uncomfortable trackpad and no DVI output, just some mini. Fortunately, with 22 GB of space and a low-end machine, you can still play and enjoy this game for most of the missions.I was at the store which sells MacBook Pros and tried different models. Players now also need a Rockstar account and need to go through the launcher before they start playing the game. Along with these issues, the graphics received no attention, and online game features are now disabled. This is due to the character falling off the helicopter in the last mission or the save file corrupting. UnfinishableĪs a result of several bugs from the previous version originating in 2008, you cannot finish the game. This also comes with the disablement of Windows Live and the leaderboard feature, as the title is now entirely offline. Rockstar launcherĪll players who have never used the Rockstar launcher will now require it. You'll also need to set aside 22 GB of space on your hard drive. The minimum system requirements you'll need are a 256 MB graphics card and 1.5 GB memory with a decent processor such as a dual-core running at least 1.8 GHz from Intel. The new version of Grand Theft Auto IV hasn't changed the graphics quality, which means the game can run on lower-end machines.
